Van Nahmen source the Jonagold apple variety from classic German fruit-growing regions. The variety is a cross between the Golden Delicious and the Jonathan and, as a single-variety juice, has a balanced taste and a long-lasting sweetish-slightly sour aroma. "This juice needs a large glass in order to unfold its splendor. The nose then shows less apple aromas, but rather intense notes of ripe vineyard peach, gooseberries and exotic fruits such as kiwi, mango and papaya. A pleasant fruit sweetness dominates the palate, which is subtly enlivened by a fine acidity. Overall, a juice with ripe, amazingly exotic aromas that play around the palate with a creamy texture. If you want to drink the juice mixed with water, it is best to use still water. This emphasizes the sweetness and the exotic taste. Carbonated water can have a somewhat metallic effect. This juice is best combined with sweet main dishes from Viennese cuisine such as Kaiserschmarrn with apple compote or apricot dumplings with vanilla ice cream, or it is drunk with fruity tarts and cakes with whipped cream instead of a melange. It goes perfectly with refined desserts with exotic fruits such as tea-smoked pineapple with papaya, mango and tonka bean ice cream or light and airy pot soufflé, which is perfumed with lime zest and served with fruit".
