Lao - Sparkling Tea - Mucha Tie Guan Yin

Mucha Tie Guan Yin, a Taiwanese roasted wulong, draws its essence from an ancient legend: a pious peasant named Wei Yin was visited by the goddess Guan Yin in a dream, revealing a cave containing a treasure: a tea tree with leaves as heavy as iron, thus giving birth to Tie Guan Yin, the “iron goddess of mercy”, a source of regional pride.

Carefully cultivated by Mr. Gao using methods handed down from generation to generation since 1875, this tea bears witness to a passionate commitment to tea culture.
The leaves undergo an intensive cooking process over several days, giving them unique roasted notes. It’s a very special delicacy, with extraordinary flavours, that continues to delight the locals, perpetuating the Mucha Tie Guan Yin legacy.

Tasting notes

Slightly oily, delicate robe, distinctly sparkling.

An intense bouquet of raw cocoa mingles with subtle hints of tangerine.

An invigorating citrus attack, supported by distinguished roasted notes, leaving a slight astringency on the palate reminiscent of red grape skin.
