Confetti – the word is actually the plural of a single confetto – are sugar coated almonds which come in many different colours, each with its own significance and they form part of a bombonniere which is the gift traditionally given as a thank you to wedding, communion, christening and birthday guests, similar to the wedding favours used in other parts of the world.
