The Almond Florentine is a classic in gourmet circles. Apparently, these biscuits were first made when the wealthy De’ Medici family from Florence (hence, the biscuit’s name) visited the French court. In any event, these caramelized biscuits – with shaved almonds and dipped in Belgian chocolate – are heavenly!
