Our Mulligatawny soup is inspired by a classic South Indian recipe. The name 'Mulligatawny' comes from the Tamil words 'milagu' and 'tanni,' which together mean 'pepper water.' While the British popularized a version that included rice, apples, and chicken, our Indo-Canadian version uses Canadian lentils and fresh, local vegetables.
Flavour Profile
The result is a beautifully balanced soup that’s savoury, slightly tangy, and creamy, with a gentle kick of spice.
Serving Suggestions
Enjoy this soup on its own or pair it with a slice of warm, crusty bread. For an extra burst of freshness, top it with a squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.
For our direct-to-consumer orders (home deliveries & pick-up at our store), we are still using the old packaging, as a small business, until we run out!
